RECOVERY OF LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT ALCOHOLS

Methanol and ethanol are extensively used as solvents and cleaners in many industries. In the course of their use they are contaminated. Depending on the application they may need to be purified for further use. Purification step often involves costly on-site distillation or purification at a central processing plant. In most cases, low molecular weight alcohols can be economically reclaimed with nanofiltration membrane systems more effectively than with a distillation process.
